Where we’ve been, and where we’re going
When establishing Columbia Records in the District of Columbia in 1855, our founder Edward Easton had no idea that we would one day become one of the biggest names in music. Throughout the decades, we became one of the largest distributors of phonographs, then vinyl records. Our innovative and creative roots are what inspire us to rise to the same standards today.

There’s nothing we’re more passionate about than allowing our artists to thrive and create freely. We’ve represented some of the best musicians to ever exist, and we continue to seek out new, talented artists to create new legends. Whether it be Bob Dylan, Calvin Harris, Adele, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, or Bruce Springsteen, we’re proud to represent a wide array of household names. As proud as we are of these artists, we’re also committed to fostering growth in our rising stars, including King Princess, Declan McKenna, and HAIM. We’re crafting the next generation of music, one artist at a time.
With offices on nearly every continent, Columbia’s worldwide presence ensures that we reach as many fans as possible. Communication across international offices is crucial to us, as we value the unique insight of each area to facilitate holistic collaboration. Our widespread outlook allows us to look ahead to the future while thriving in the present, a statement we take to heart here at Columbia.
